The Guy Salanon Memorial Petanque Tournament.
On Sunday March 17th the OHLALA Club from Lake Mary Florida inaugurated their brand new courts for the Guy Salanon Memorial Tournament.
The Club members worked very hard with Jon Claessens at the Lead to transform and empty lot into an array of beautiful challenging courts and not the usual flat and leveled terrain.
There were a total of 16 Double Teams from mostly the SE, 2 Teams from North Carolina, Amelia Island, St. Augustine, Del Ray Beach, Sarasota, Seaside, Miami and of course the Local Club in Orlando, Fl.
OHLALA is one of the latest clubs to be formed in Florida and already have a beautiful place to meet and play in such a short time they have become part of our Petanque Family they are definitely have become a very close Club.
The day started on the cool side but quickly warmed up to upper 70's the Tournament started promptly right after Club President Jon Claessens announcements. The First Game started at 9:10am.
There were going to be a total of 3 Qualifying Games before Lunch with Top 8 Teams advancing to the Main Concours and the remaining 8 Teams to the Consolante.
The Results of the Tournament were as Follow:
1st Place Roger Arpaia and Frederic PeƱaranda
2nd Place Jacques Martinez and Juan Garcia
3rd Place Gilles Canesse and Eric Moutard
